Instructions
Density can be determined by dividing the mass of an object by its volume.
Density of a Regular Shared Object
- Mass can be determined using a triple beam balance or an electronic scale
- Volume can be determined by measuring and multiplying the length, width, and height (Length X Width x Height)
Density of an Irregular Shaped Object
- Mass can be determined using a triple beam balance or an electronic scale
- Volume can be determined using water displacement with a graduated cylinder
Density of Water
- The density of water is 1 g/ml
- An object with a density greater than 1 g/mL will sink when placed into water
- An object with a density less than 1 g/mL will float when placed into water
