You are about to start a very important, challenging year, and I know many of you have personal goals such as; completing your associate's, completing 300 or more hours, getting a job, etc. The question you need to begin asking yourself is what do you plan to do AFTER graduation and how will you plan for this. With the right planning, your year will be balanced.
GOALS for Your Senior Year:
Every senior will graduate from high school with approved credits.
Every senior will graduate with as many college credits as they can.
Every senior will apply to a University/college or training program.
Every senior will apply for financial aid (inclusive of grants, scholarships and loans).
Every senior will be ready for a post-secondary education, the military or the workforce.
We will help guide you to attaining your goals and provide you the necessary assistance to help reach our goals. As a senior, it is your responsibility to take action with a plan for your educational and career goals. These are the first steps in getting started…
Your Summer Suitcase -Both must be completed and submitted on Canvas by the first day of classes. This will be your first major grade for the 1st grading period:
#1 - You will research four (4) universities (including at least TAMUCC or TAMUK) and document the information for all sections on the “University Search” form - go to https://goo.gl/Emasam . Pay special attention to costs and requirements for applications, admissions, scholarships and tuition.
The purpose of a college search is to determine which University best suits you personally, academically and professionally.
College application process will begin the first Friday of the school year.
